The Nomad handheld also features a high-resolution, sunlight-visible VGA display that shows graphics and maps in crisp detail. And it’s fully rugged which means the Nomad handheld computer offers a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) than consumer-grade handhelds.
Built-in versatility
The Nomad computer makes it easy to collect, save and transmit data in the field because it’s available with so many built in capabilities. Calculate field acreage, record soil sample locations, or perform variable rate application with the integrated GPS receiver. Another handy built-in feature is the 802.11g for wireless data transmission via a wireless network and Farm Sync software. If more storage is needed, Secure Digital (SD) and CompactFlash (CF) slots are available on each unit provided by Farm Data.
Tough as the outdoors
Like other Trimble rugged handhelds, the Nomad computer meets rigorous MILSTD-810F military standards for drops, vibration, humidity, altitude and extreme temperatures. It also comes with an IP67 rating. That means the Nomad handheld is completely sealed against dust, and it can survive immersion in up to a metre of water for 30 minutes. Trimble rugged handhelds have proven their reliability in the field with thousands of real-world users.
Fast, powerful and easy to use
Every Nomad handheld comes with an 806 MHz Marvell PXA320 XScale processor, 128 MB RAM and a hotswappable Lithium Ion (Li-lon) battery that can work all day long without a recharge. The Nomad computer also includes the latest Windows Mobile® 6 software, so it runs all the applications you use most, including a wide range of third-party software for industry-specific applications.
